ONE PUNCH MAN
Saitama vs genos
sound re-design
This fight scene from the anime "One Punch Man" is one of my favourites and so I thought "why not re-design the sounds for this superbly animated scene?", which is exactly what I did here.
creating sfx on ableton
The majority of the sound effects I used in the video were created on Ableton. Take the shoulder jet startup, for example, I based this sound off one of Ableton's stock drum kits, input 3 sets of notes, the bass drum, snare, and crash cymbals to play simultaneously. I then added distortion, overdrive, and reverb to transform the sound into what it eventually became. I duplicated the sound 3 times, changed the pitches in ascending order, and made sure they played in a start-up-like sequence.

I also incorporated sounds from my own personal sound effects librarys into the video.
syncing sounds to video on
pro tools 12

For syncing the sounds to the video, I used Pro Tools 12. I arranged tracks according to the on-screen actions being shown and also adjusted things such as automation and panning of sounds, as well as adding in any additional digital signal processors such as pitch shift or reverb.
I took this opportunity to do my own voiceover recording for one of the characters in the video as well. With a bit of voiceover editing and pre-delay, I was able to add robotic effect to my voice.
