Drive is the first song that I have ever produced. Being an avid enthusiast of musical genres such as shoegaze and dream pop, I drew a lot of inspiration for this song from artists such as "beach house" or "cigarettes after sex". I originally started creating this song with the intent of it being the sort of song you'd listen to as you stared into the starry sky, or as you daydreamed in your bedroom. The song is meant to embody etherealism and is meant to put the listener in a trance-like headspace, one that takes them out of the physical world and into their minds. I attempt to achieve this through the manipulation of space within the song, where effects such as reverb and delay played key roles in achieving the ambient characteristic of the instrumentals in the song.
